OUR  PRINCIPAL

Kia ora koutou on behalf of Wainuioru whānau and community,

It is with great pride that I welcome you to Wainuioru School. “Whiria te Tangata” - Weave the People, encapsulates our rich culture and sense of community spirit. The community, the dedicated staff, the highly involved board of trustees and amazing whanau all work together to create what is an inspiring and family styled approach to learning.

Our school values - “WaiKids” - underpin the importance of students and staff being active with their learning, investing in their wellbeing, displaying kaitiakitanga, igniting their passion for learning, being determined to succeed and striving for excellence in all we do.

Our school curriculum aims to engage our students, encourage them to be reflective learners and use our surroundings to create a local context for their learning. We are very fortunate to have a rich local history and the ability to draw on this to create meaningful connections for our students. Building huts, planting and harvesting crops and getting outdoors all help us to develop the whole child.

Our local fundraising group (WSCA) are an active part of our school community and are always looking for members to help them with ideas and making things happen so we can continue providing our students with great learning opportunities and resources.

We are proud of our school and our environment and look forward to showing you around sometime.

Nga mihi nui
