Wainuioru School and Community Nursery

Who are we?

We are a not for profit, community run organisation growing a range of native plants for our local community.

All profits are returned to our community, first and foremost, our school.

Our nursery was established in late 2020, with funds from the One Billion Trees through our local catchment group, Wainuioru Community River Care Group, and with significant support from contractors and volunteers within our community.

We have a committee with 10 community members and school representatives involved. We have a dedicated team of volunteers from our community that help with planting and TLC for our natives during the year.

We are always looking for more volunteers and would love you to join us!

Our Kaupapa

Through our cornerstone values of Kaitiakitanga (guardianship of land), Rangatiratanga (leadership) and Whanaungatanga (fellowship) we strive to develop a vibrant school and community plant nursery which will benefit the school, local community, and the Wainuioru River catchment environment, leaving a lasting impact for years to come.

Why?

Supporting Wainuioru School and Community Nursery has benefits for the environment and community that go far beyond the impact of the single tree.

We are taking orders now for the next planting season and can work with all volumes, large and small.
