Principal's Welcome
E ngā mana, E ngā reo, E ngā karangatanga maha, Tēnā koutou. Greetings everyone!
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Wainuioru School. I am so fortunate to be the Principal of this
awesome school! We have amazing children, a talented and dedicated staff supported by a very
competent Board of trustees. At the centre of our world is a strong community, both locally and from the surrounding districts.
We have a strong emphasis on developing the foundations of what we see
as'true "WAI KIDS" values.
Our WAI KIDS underpin everything we do at our school and set the standard
for rural education in our context. "Wainui" and "Oru" are the role models
that our children aspire to be when they leave here in Year 8.
Our curriculum is strongly linked to our unique rural surroundings and our
children can often be seen up trees, building huts as well as being active playing
other traditional games in the playground. We encourage the children to take
responsible risks in their learning, thus providing them with the environment
in which to do so.
We have worked on developing strong relationships with our whanau & wider
community. The local community group WSCA (Wainuioru, School and
Community Association) provide our school with resources which enable us to
provide greater outcomes for our students.
I look forward to sharing our special place with you one day!
